This book is slightly darker than the first...as the story goes, there have been a series of brutal murders in the Inderlands...someone has been killing ley line witches....actually, butchering is more like it...this would normally be a matter for the IS, of which Rachael is no longer a member, until Sara Jane (remember the nice secretary that fed Mink-Rachael her lunch leftovers?) shows up at the FIB after her boyfriend, a ley line witch, goes missing...Edden takes on Rachael as his inderlander 'consultant' and thus you have her involvement in the hijinks..

who's been killing these witches and why? The main suspect is a professor at the local university...all the victims had her for a teacher..Edden wants Rachael to help prove that she's behind the murder spree but Rachael's investigation brings up another plausible suspect..one she's got history with and bears a big grudge against..

what's great about this series is when it deviates from the plot for the 'in between' moments it never dulls for a second...the interplay with Jenks, the growing pains of her and Ivy's tenuous relationship, her relationship with Nick.. you never quite know when something can go from mundane to very dangerous...

Harrison also fleshes out more about Ivy's motivations, what Nick does in his spare time and even goes so far as to get into Rachael's family past and when she was a child..

Going back to school, being annoyed at foul mouthed pixies, avoiding being a vamp play thing, having splat ball fights with pixie children, delving into magic that could scar her soul....well, need I say more?

Anthology - Love or hate?

Anthology is one of the things I do not like the romance genre.

First - The stories are too short, I like a long book that I can sink into.

Second - I'm just an author in an anthology. Very rare that two authors who contribute to the same anthology. So I pay the full price in a book which I read only a small percentage of them.

Publishers like pushing anthologies. Receive lesser known authors linked to known values, and hopeReaders, like their stories, hoping to increase sales for them. This is not a bad strategy, but I must say, I never found a new author (for me) this way.

Collections range of two authors of ten or more. I hate when I see an author I like to be the author anthology of ten. I draw the line there's no way I'm paying full price for a book I only read a few pages of it.

One of the authors I like to do something a bit 'different. Sarah McCarty has aAnthology called Running Wild. This is an anthology of three stories, but the story arc covers the entire book. This is a series with a new game coming out in December called Instinct. Another anthology of three stories and a continuation of the arc Running Wild. I like this kind of anthologies better. But I wanted every story to be longer. So still do not like so much like a regular novel. But if an author wanted some short stories that I would not writein this way.

I like Running Wild pretty well. It 's just that I want to commit themselves to sink into long stories, and I did not feel were long enough for the depth of the characters out.

This "misunderstanding" resulted in Cat becoming a weak shadow of her usual self - only regaining her normal spunk toward the end of the book. The author's overuse of the jealousy theme is also wearing very, very thin (another mistake usually only made by beginning authors). I hope she considers (please!) using other devices to increase tension in future books. The author redeemed herself toward the end of the book, however, when the plot and pace picked up in all respects, so I'm giving rounding this up from 3.5 to 4 stars instead of rounding it down to 3. Hopefully the next book will be better.

Polo descriptions are rich and vibrant.Use good marketing words of his attitude, did not complain to paint the player. Their dialogue is sharp, funny and unique for each character. The cast is very strong and well developed. It 'been a pleasure to learn Flo, Barney SA, and Berg.

When I bought this book, I didn't read any reviews so my expectations were neither high or low. I must say, this was a FANTASTIC book! The sex scenes were HOT and the story line was great. What I was pleasantly surprised to find, was that Loving Lies has some tear jerking moments. I felt so bad for Jesse. She has been deeply in love with this guy and has waited on him for forever and when she finally gets him, he gets pulled away just as fast. The only thing I did not like about this book is that when Slade left her, Jesse's world stopped turning. She depended on him so much, that when he left she didn't know what to do. But overall this book was deffinately worth my money and I HIGHLY suggest buying this book!

Regardless of your profession in life most of us have some sort of plan which gets us through the day with some semblance of organization. This would especially be true for the big, bad group of covert operatives known as A-Tac with Drake Flynn being the man that thrived on Plan A but always has a Plan B.

When Drake is assigned to retrieve Madeline Reynard from the Columbia drug cartel king pin who is holding her, Drake soon realizes he is going to need a whole alphabet of plans to get her out of there because she is one stubborn female who trusts no one. This is one trait he can relate to as he has had issues with the people in his life stabbing him in the back and on some occasions literally. Madeline is a whole other type of woman who for some reason makes him want to protect while bringing to light deep feelings of lust and passion. As the story unfolds as to why she was with the cartel and why she keeps running from him every chance she gets Drake starts to realize that some women are worth the risks you must take even if it means it could break his heart yet again.

After Drake gets Madeline out of the drug cartel's house they are unfortunately left behind by the other members of his team. So Drake must find their way out of the Columbian jungles to a place where A-Tac can rescue them. As Drake and Madeline get through the jungles both of them show how strong yet vulnerable they can be when they let down their guard and expose their emotions to one another. Madeline explains how she came to be the pawn in the cartel's business to save her drug addict sister and Drake understands this loyalty as his brother died a noble but horrific death while serving in the military. But by coincidence or sheer good luck it turns out Madeline has encountered a very much alive man who she believes is Drake's brother - is that possible? Is the main clue a simple playing card with the Queen of Hearts on it going to explain everything? Maybe, but right now Plan A is to get out of this jungle, destroy the drug cartel's other stash of guns and try not to fall in love with one another. Everything but not falling in love seems to be the working out because once Madeline falls into Drake's arms the rest of the journey seems almost bearable. Plan A might have been rescue of the person but Plan B seems to be taking over their hearts. Drake is not fond of Plan B not working as he can't see himself surviving without Madeline.

This second book in the A-Tac series is as action packed as the first and some of the characters from the first book are pulled in to help which always makes for a nice addition. The jungle scenes are so well written you can feel the rush of the water and develop a fear of night time creatures to the point you heart is anxiously racing. It takes a good author to keep a series fresh with each book and Dee Davis absolutely has done this with this latest book.

Fabian Perez Gallery Opens

Argentine artist Fabian Perez was on hand to add up to a certain fascination for the opening of an art gallery Swansea.

OK, I like a good story and so I'm reading this series (Beyond the Highland Mist, To Tame a Highland Warrior, The Highlander's Touch, Kiss of the Highlander, etc.). And, some of the books even feature highlanders though you get little of the highland way of life or the castle/keep ambiance. And, she does little in the way of character development for any but the main few characters. But this one seems to me to be primarily a fantasy/fae story that mostly takes place in the modern US (you don't even get to Scotland until nearly page 200). And the male lead, Adam Black, is not a Scottish highlander though he's assumed that disguise in his past 5000+ year life as a fae. And my other complaint about this "highlander" series is that the language is mostly modern even among the so called highlanders. But if you can accept all that and not be disappointed, it's a good story and she does well with the sexual tension and love making scenes. I read though her books pretty fast as there's not much substance there and after really meaty highlander and historical Scottish romances, I'm not sure this one is even a 4 star though...might be a 3 star plus. I read this book after reading the four Wallflower Series books and it was delightful to visit again with the characters that I loved from the other books. The book is short and that is my only major complaint. The plot is on a par with Kleypas' other books; totally engaging. Rafe Bowman is a rake. Hannah is demure and innocent until she meets the hero. The combination is what romance novels are made of. Add in some stumbling blocks to happiness and you can sit down to an evening of fun reading.
